On Friday June the 13th (!!!) I'll be in Guelph at War Memorial Hall doing
a special concert for the Ontario Historical Society Conference.
Here's the press release:
Historical Conference to fund Environmental Disaster Relief
On June 13th Guelphites will have a unique opportunity to learn more about Ontario's environmental history while supporting an important international cause. In response to the devastation caused by the recent cyclone, the Ontario Historical Society, along with the Guelph Historical Society, Guelph Civic Museums and the History Department at the University of Guelph, will be generously donating a portion of profits from their upcoming Gala Night to Myanmar disaster relief. Given Guelph's excellent reputation for supporting disaster relief, this event will demonstrate one of the finer aspects of Guelph's heritage.
The Gala event, entitled "Celebrating Ontario's Environmental Heritage" takes place Friday, June 13th at 8pm at War Memorial Hall. Featuring an illustrated talk by local environmentalist, photographer and author Peter Kelly, a performance by the Spirit Walk artists, and music by local songwriter and activist James Gordon, the Gala night event is sure to be exciting, educational and entertaining.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to attend this event. Advance tickets are available through the River Run Centre box office for $25, $20 for seniors and students. The box office can be contacted at 519-763-3000, toll free at 1-877-520-2408, or online at www.riverrun.ca. Tickets purchased at the door of the event will be $30.
Another cool part of that evening is that I will be playing "The Guelph Guitar".. built by my friend Doug Larson. It's a unique and beautiful instrument constructed out of fascinating Guelph artifacts.
The next day, June
14th, I'm a guest speaker at a special
conference here in Guelph about community involvement... it's
a great new event that you should check out if you are in the
hood.
Communities in Action is an inspiring day of workshops
bringing together non-profits, neighbourhood groups and community
advocates from across the country to share their most effective
tools, dynamic strategies and newest models of community engagement.

oh, and by the way..... the new solo show I am doing makes it
a lot easier for me to do house concerts. I only need about thirty
really wealthy people to make it worthwhile. ( well, all they
need is about 15 bucks each )... You could have one at your house.
No, really, you could. I bring everything except the house, and
I'm working on that.
