The Argylls >> Benefits and Pay

As a reservist, you have access to the following benefit packages:

Dental >> You have access to the dental plan after six months of service. The dental plan covers approximately 80% of the costs of general dental work. See the unit for more detailed information.

Medical >> As a reservist, you may buy into a medical insurance package. All medical expenses incurred while on duty are covered by the Canadian Forces.

Uniforms and Equipment >> All of your equipment and military supplies, including your uniforms, are provided free of charge. You will receive an annual credit and access to the CF online shopping kit shop for dress environment, training, and other items.

Please note that all issued kit, such as your combat uniform and other combat equipment, are on loan to you by the Government of Canada. This means that you must return your equipment and uniforms after releasing from the Canadian Forces.

Accommodation and Meals >> All overnight accommodation and meals are provided while on training exercises, courses, or other forms of duty when you are away from home. On exercises, expect to rack-out (sleep) in a sleeping bag and hoochie (tent).

Vacation Pay >> You will receive a 9% top-up to pay in lieu of leave/vacation and other benefits.

Tuition Reimbursement >> The Canadian Forces will cover a portion of your expenses when attending college or university. See the unit for more details.

Pay Schedule

Full-day pay is for any amount of time over six hours worked in a calendar day. You will receive 50% of a days full-pay if you work any less than six hours.
