Qualities
>> What We Are Looking For?
Infantry soldiers
must be dependable and disciplined. They must also be
able to react quickly and adapt to changing situations.
Courage, physical and mental discipline and stamina,
and a positive attitude are essential attributes for
the modern military.
The ability and willingness
to learn new skills and techniques is also necessary,
as the diverse nature of infantry operations requires
the developement of a broad range of highly specialized
skills. Leadership and people management skills are
also important, as is the ability to work as a part
of a team.
Great soldiers are
made, not born. It is up to you to learn the fundamentals
of being a soldier on each course, and it is up to the
unit to fine-tune those skills so you will be an expert
in the field.
It doesn't take a
6 foot, 200 Lbs monster who benches 300 Lbs to make
a great soldier. What it does take is self-determination,
grit, and the will to succeed. Excellent soldiers come
in all shapes and sizes, male or female.
People
Make The Unit >>
What type of people
are the Argylls looking for? Well, we want people who
are eager and keen to do a good job. We want people
with good social skills, people who are determined to
make a difference, and people who continually strive
to do their best.
The
Army Reserve >> Not Just For Students
Yes, the Army Reserves
is a perfect job for secondary and post-secondary students.
In fact, it is the only student job that can guarantee
you optional full-time summer employment.
However, the Army
Reserve is not just for students.
We have a number
of people who make a full-time career out of the Army
Reserves, as well as people who already have full-time
professional careers but who want to make a commitment
to their community and country.
Our unit has a range
of people, from mechanics to teachers to lawyers and
pizza makers. We are all a part of the Argyll Team.
Do you have Argyll potential?
