Dedicated High Speed Link to Universities

Subscribers of Sentex's High-speed Service not only get high-speed ADSL at home and at the office, they also get access to Orion's high-speed fibre optic advanced research and education network! With more than 8,200 km of optical fibre through 23 points of presence in major centers across Ontario, ORION is one of the largest research and education networks ever built.

This has three benefits:

• Speed: If a portion of the internet is congested, this does not effect the private link between Universities and Sentex.
• Redundancy: If the Universities link to the outside world goes down, connectivity between Sentex and the Universities is still up and vice versa.
• Lower latency:  Data between various campuses and Sentex has a shorter path to traverse.
