What is this site about?

These pages document the genealogical and family history information for my ancestors. I documented this information in html format on-line so that others with common ancestors to my family can benefit from the work I have already done. I also hope to attract and encourage those with interest in the same families/ancestors to send me further information and photos that I do not already possess. I am very interested in establishing contact with distant cousins and exchanging data, photos and family stories. Please email me if you are connected to any of these families.

I am also working on providing general history, geography, and sociological information relevant to the periods and places in which the people documented in this site lived. These pages will posted later.

What families/areas does this site cover?

This web site covers direct ancestors of mine, and in most cases their siblings, and in a few cases descendants of other branches of the family. This is a work in progress, as I have more infomation than has been encoded to html to date, and I continue to obtain more. Generally speaking I have only included deceased relatives, to protect the privacy of the living, except where I have permission of living relatives. The principal families covered on the site include:

Québec, Canada - Gaspé region (18th to 20th centuries)  Québec, Canada - St. Lawrence Valley (17th to 18th centuries)   West Yorkshire, UK (18th to 20th centuries)   South Lancshire, UK (18th to 20th centuries)   Ontario, Canada, and Ireland (19th & 20th centuries)   Acadia (17th to 18th centuries)
