Family History Details

This family appears in 1861 and 1871 census records in Halmerend, Staffordshire. In 1891 they lived at 9 Foggs Fold (may not exist now), Platt Bridge, and in that census Hamlet was recorded as "Albert". Hamlett II was a coal miner, and already working at this trade at the time of the 1871 census (12 years old).

This family was residing at 18 Betley Street (now Sydney Street), Platt Bridge, Hindley, Lancashire, at the time of the 1901 census (except Maude). Hamlet II was still listed as a coal miner, and was already working in the mines as early as age 12 [3] [19].

In some census records the family name is spelt "Baggueley".

William and Grace Pye lived at Port Sunlight near Liverpool, according to Bill and Ellen Rotheram.
