Hello all, and what happened to this summer, it is September in a few days and where did it go?. We have had the cars out a few times and just got back from visiting Canada's most southern point, the Isle of Pelee, nice place, quiet but worth the visit. We did the big island last year, ie Manitoulin, also worth the visit particularly driving a Stag, next year I am taking the Clubman estate. September brings British Car Day on 20th, if you go to anything this year make it to that show and look us up at our bright new shiny tent. Since I have a closet full of licence plate surrounds anyone who renews at the show gets a free one. You give me the money and I give you a free surround, simple and you can renew early if you like. If you are able to help us out at the tent during the show so as to let the staff wander around the show for a while please let us know, it would be appreciated.
As the summer that never was leaves us, my annual fall/winter plea now starts, Wanna be Chairman, wanna do Regalia, wanna do membership, wanna do anything???. We have three Chairmen in our history, ie 15 years, me, Tony Fox and Dave Lawrence and it is time for new blood, none of the three want to stand again, not because its a tough job or anything, we all agree we need new blood if the Club is not to stagnate. We also need new people at other positions to spread things around and get new ideas and vitality, hey, we are all old guys! The exception being Elva, who is anything but an 'old guy'. and hopefully she keeps doing her normal great job with the Oily Rag for many years to come. Without some more involvement things may come to a sticky end come early next year. Remember you do not have to live around the GTA, you don't have to be a guy and as long as you are willing to keep it simple, keep it fun and let common sense override the urge to over organize you will fit right in. So if you are interested contact me or Tony Fox.
If you want to renew via Paypal please note that the email address used to find us has changed from hillman1946@yahoo.com to info@bsccoc.ca otherwise everything is the same. So, keep it safe, and we will see you at Brit Car Day.
