His songs have been recorded and performed by such varied acts as The Cowboy Junkies, Melanie Doane, Al Simmons, James Keelaghan, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, and several major choirs. His song 'Mining For Gold' appears in the the new John Sayles film ÒSilver CityÓ, due out later this year, starring Kris Kristofferson, Daryl Hannah and Richard Dreyfus. His song ÒFrobisher BayÓ was names 'Favourite Canadian roots song' in Shelagh RogersÕ CBC radio contest last year, and it will be mangled by hundreds of contestants this summer as an audition piece for the ÒCanadian IdolÓ television show. Currently signed to Borealis Records, his newest CD 'Endomusia', released in April of 2004, has been getting an enthusiastic response from fans, critics, and DJs. Greg Quill of the Toronto Star called it 'a wonderfully rich, varied set, the work of a confident artist with important things on his mindÓ, and in May it was the most -played Canadian CD on the U.S. FOLKDJ list. Gordon's full-length folk opera 'Hardscrabble Road' debuted in his hometown of Guelph ON in the fall of 2003,and has just been released on CD. He recently directed and produced a major musical theatre work based on mental health themes -"Two Steps and Glass of Water". Also in his 'chosen cause', the mental health field, his CD 'One in Five' and the video documentary 'Breaking the Mask' that he produced last year have been used extensively in Canada and the U.S. to raise awareness and funds for this important issue.
