The Ontario Holstein Branch initiates a new Youth Award

The Ontario Holstein Branch initiates a new Youth Award.

ONTARIO HOLSTEIN BRANCH
SPIRIT OF 4-H DAIRY AWARD

In keeping with the Ontario Branch’s philosophy about the importance of valuing our youth in the dairy industry, a new award has been developed to recognize outstanding 4-H dairy calf club members who exhibit strength of character and are making a positive difference within their community.

The award, sponsored by the Ontario Holstein Branch, is designed to recognize the contribution of a "4-H Member" in each county, through their leadership, dedication and commitment to the 4-H program as well as noteworthy achievements and contributions to the community. Emphasis will be given to the aforementioned rather than the amount of success the individual has achieved in the show ring.

The Ontario Holstein Youth Programs are open to young people of all dairy breeds. The Branch looks forward to participation from all dairy 4-H calf club members, who truly exemplify the spirit of 4-H in this new Provincial Award.

Individual County recipients will receive a suitable award that will be presented at the local Holsteins Club Annual Banquet/ Meeting or another appropriate club function.

Dairy Calf Club Leaders and members should contact their local Holstein Club, Breed Representatives or the Ontario Holstein Branch office for more information.
