What does a Rep Do?
The Ontario Holstein Field Representative is the liason between members at the Branch, Club and individual levels. They guide the Clubs on program and activity development and provide the Club Directors with training when necessary. They attempt to ensure that members understand the Association's services, policies and programs. They assist breeders with record keeping, problem solving, breeding advice, interpretation of industry data and the use of Association services. The Rep visits new members to assist them in setting up a record system, purchasing foundation animals and establishing a sound breeding program. They will often conduct seminars and barn meetings on topics in accordance with membership needs. The Rep also works with other industry organizations such as A.I. and Milk Recording and is often seen assisting at Official Holstein Shows.
