Juices provides on premise winemaking services for local customers (see
map). In addition to the regular 'pick and choose' 20 L batches
(28 x 750 ml bottle) Kamil Juices promotes a co-operative approach to
winemaking. What is a winemaking co-op? Each week one particular white (blend or single varietal) and one red (blend or single varietal) is offered. Anyone who is interested in that variety or blend can come in, put in an order for an order as little as 10 L ( 14 x 750 ml bottles). On the Friday of each week, customers who put in orders come to the store to 'pitch' the yeast to start the batch. Payment in full (for the juice variety) is due at the time of starting. Co-operative winemaking at Kamil Juices has a number of advantages. It allows patrons to make batches of wine of varying sizes (a minimum of 14 to a maximum of 280, 750 ml bottles). Thus you will be able to increase the number of varieties in your cellar, having some bottles of each rather than one large batch of a single variety. Subscribers will pitch yeast, and Kamil Juices will look after the rest. You will be contacted to bottle your wine approx. 6 weeks after you subscribe. Varieties for Co op will be advertised each week at our store and on this page. Other varietals can be fermented if there is a minimum of 60 litres ordered. Therefore gather up your friends, neighbors, and co-workers and start making wine. |
