The strangest thing about living in Stratford is listening to tourists talk about what they think Stratford residents are really like.  When I was down by the river last summer reading, I overheard a man telling his friends about how Stratford pays "the locals" to sit around the river. He said that this is to add to the friendly, smalltown image of the city!

When I was a young boy growing up in Stratord, I would get the biggest kick out of the tourists. Believe it or not I had this happen a couple times. Tourists would stop me asking for directions. They had snow skis on their roof carriers and asked me where to go skiing. That would be not have been so bad had it not been the middle of summer!!.
