4-Age Determination Date :
For Example: On your birthday in 1999 you become 32 years old (don't I wish), you will then be considered to be 32 years old  for the whole year 1999 for Masters Swimming Ontario results and records, regardless of your actual age on the date of the meet or the rules of the meet at which you swim.  Hope that clarifies the rule change!

The latest news is the  Wellness/Fitness Day Program  on April 17th at Etobicoke Olympium from 9 to 4pm.  Topics include Healthy Eating, Minimizing Injury, Dryland Training and a Stroke Clinic in the pool.  Program and registration package can be found on this page by clicking the link above and were mailed to all clubs.    For further information and to register call Geoff Camp at (905) 863-6125.

AGE DETERMINATION DATE RULE CHANGE: Yes the rumors are true!  We all had a birthday on Jan 1, 1999.    At the MSO Annual General Meeting in December 1998 we voted to change the age determination date so that your age is now your age as of December 31, 1999.  This became effective on Jan.1, 1999.   Some meet packages have already gone out with the old rule (age on last day of meet), so enter your age as of Dec.31,1999.  Meet managers will also correct entries and  results to conform with the new rule.

NEW MSO EXECUTIVE :  You may contact your  New Executive if you have any questions or concerns.   New members of the MSO Board are Charlie Lane (ETOB) Member at Large and Ralph Chown (ARN) Secretary.   Lesley-Mason Ward (SWYM) will be our Statistician and as you already know Barrie Malloch (ETOB) is your new Webmaster.   Leaving the Board are Don Hambley (UWO) and Chris Smith (MBLA).  We thank  them for their contribution over the years.

WELLNESS /FITNESS DAY: Date to be Announced. Watch for information and registration forms coming in the mail for this new and different offering from MSO's Fitness Committee.

MSO PINS: Available soon will be genuine MSO pins!   Design by Roy Smith (DAM).

NEW MSO COMMITTEE: You will all be pleased to know that Ian Mac Donald(ETOB) and Charlie Lane(ETOB) have volunteered to form a committee to coordinate and ensure that there is a Provincial Championship EVERY year.

Since there is no way I can go anywhere today with a street full of snow (it is 6pm and there is no sign of a snow plow yet  !) , I guess I will update the Meet Schedule.
There are two new meets, Kenora Jan 30th and Dalewood Feb. 28th,  in the Ontario Meet Schedule .    And for those of you who plan way ahead,  St. Mary's is up in the  OWS Schedule .

 Next time you see Michael Stroud be sure to thank him for designing this great webpage ( and also for keeping the records and top ten for more years than most of you have been Masters!)

 I am having a lots of fun learning how to maintain the page.    Please feel free to let   me   know if I make mistakes!     My first big practice event was doing a webpage for  EOMAC  with the Schedule of Events for the April 10-11, 1999 Meet.

The links for all of the results have been re-instated. The forms have been re-formatted to print neatly. The minutes from the July 19 Board of Directors Meeting are now available, including the Balance Sheet and the Income Statement.

This completes my committment ... please give the new webmaster your wholehearted support.

A couple of little things ... Results from St Mary's and a new website for Masters Swimming Canada and a new Executive Secretary for MSC, Beth Whittall and don't forget to say "Thank You" to Jackie Spry for all of those years of service to you and to me.

And one new thing ... a section for Meet Entry Forms. Thank you North York Gators for the first offering and Technosport for entry forms from their own web site and Nepean for entry forms for the 1999 Canadian Championship.
