A Postcard From Brittany (Bretagne)

The charm of window boxes.

A weeks' spring holiday in Western Brittany. - Beautiful wild scenery, a bit like Dartmoor in England.

Well here we are again and have decided to stay at the same "gite"- self-catering cottage. (See also Bretagne and Postcards from All Over). I had to delete some of my pictures and make others small - running out of space on my website allowance. Anyway, the Gites de France website tells you about them - www.gites-de-france.fr/

9th March 2003. .. Nice sunny weather, warm enough to sit in the garden. The countryside is very pretty with primroses everywhere. Today we are going to explore the coast with its high cliffs and little sandy bays.

We had a very nice time and were lucky with the weather, bright and sunny every day. It was a bit chilly at night but the cottage had central heating. Lovely scenery, very wild open countryside and pretty little villages.

The coastlineis very rugged with high cliffs and little coves. The towns by the sea are very attractive with mainly white painted cottages, most of these with blue shutters - very pretty.
