These pages are letters from Canada about places to visit, usually
within driving distance of Guelph, Ontario. Also, I write about
the local weather, gardening, birds, flowers etc. If I travel
to some other area, I write about
that. If nothing else, I write of anything that may be of interest.
I travel around the Guelph area, sometimes alone, sometimes by coach.
Sometimes I fly a Cessna 172 (see stories of my flights on home page, access
per OFICSERV at the bottom of this page). Usually I take
a few photographs. THE PAGES BEGIN NINE PARAGRAPHS DOWN.
Most of the pages have large photographs. The pages are written for Microsoft Explorer. Some of the items cannot be viewed with Netscape. All of the pages will give you practice using your side-bars and arrows for scrolling. If that bothers you, just use the Page up or Page down keys on the keyboard.
The following formula is a counter. This counter is an example of CGI (Common Gateway Interface). When it begins, the formula disappears and becomes a number. So, if you don't want to keep typing the formula every time you revise the page, save the page code as a .txt (MS DOS text) file.The code must be placed between html brackets to work. The result is the number of visitors to your site. !--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/counter-ord"--

the output will have the number without "th". Then, if you
give the number a black background it will look like a digital
counter. Sorry that doesn't work .. I'll have to try again later.

This file is becoming too big to handle, so I will have to divide it into sub-files. Note regarding html: You must have an opening page and other files linked to it, with a return address at the end. Repetitive sentences such as the ones here regarding separate files - may be Edited, Copied and Pasted, then simply changed, to avoid typing the entire html sentence. If you have external links, you should put them after your return address. This will prevent the search engines being removed from your site before they have finished visiting all your pages.
