Foret de PERSEIGNE (Orne)

"Un joli coin d'ombre et de fraicheur".

Hello again. Here's another card from Normandy. (Dated 20th April 2000).
Message on the card reads:
Thursday 20th April, 2000. We stayed right on the edge of this beautiful forest. Normandy is very pretty in the spring, with so many wild flowers - cowslips, bluebells, violets, all along the banks of the roads.

We had a nice short holiday in France and it was great to be able to take our dog Judy with us, now (with certification) animals are permitted to travel to and from Britain without lengthy quarantine for rabies. I have written an article about the procedures and certification. The article is at www.ledogstop.com go first to Petsafe Holidays and then to PETS travel scheme. (www.ledogstop.com/ledogstop/diary.html) Hope you find it. I have just submitted the second part all about the trip so that should be on the website soon.

We had five days in Normandy, staying with our friends near Alencon. I sent you a postcard, hope it doesn't take too long. The weather wasn't too good, a bit cold considering it's the end of April. In spite of the weather there were so many wild flowers, in the meadows and all along the sides of the roads. Cowslips, primroses, violets, blubells, wild orchids - they were so pretty, we get them in Dorset but not in such abundance, perhaps the UK farmers use more chemicals. Bye for now all the best from Gill
