Channeled Scabland of Washington

The Channeled Scabland of southeastern Washington was the classic study area of J. Harlan Bretz, who proposed the bursting of former ice dams of Glacial Lake Missoula as the source of the flood waters. An alternative explanation is found in: Flood Evidence in Eastern Washington.
