Neil Taylor Report on Baillie Birdathon 2009

I am pleased to report that I was able to forward pledges to Bird Studies Canada totaling $2000 from 59 sources.  Of that total, $1335 was the actual amount pledged a new high for this participant.  I managed to collect $520 from non KWFN members that included teacher colleagues from various schools, a former student from my first class, as well as family friends and relatives.  $370 was pledged directly on line using the internet.  I was unable to collect another $95 that had been pledged.  Titia and I felt that we were unable to match the amount collected from pledges, so this year we topped up the amount by $665 to bring the total to $2000.  I am ever so grateful for the generosity of all who have supported this worthy cause over the many years that I have been a participant.  Thank you so very much.

Please report sightings of turtle road fatalities or knowledge of any areas where there seems to be a lot of turtles crossing roads.  Please contact Angie Schoen so she may build a data base of these areas.  She will use this information to approach the different municipalities about placing turtle crossing signs.  Any help would be appreciated.
