Went with Cherrey/Maxey Coachlines to see the Avia Cirque Niagara.
Wonderful show. Russian acrobats, dancers, balancing and juggling
etc. Famous mongolian horsemen. Fabulous costumes, son et lumiere.
Really enjoyed immensely. Found the noise a bit much, but I have
distorted hearing problem and have to wear ear plugs to most shows.
Before the show we went to Betty's Restaurant in Chippawa. This
little restaurant has grown out of all recognition ... not
surprising because the food is really good (in my opinion and
apparently many others). There was quite a queue, but our coach
had booked and we were admitted to a separate area.

Spent an appalling afternoon trying to install my Adobe Photoshop
"update". I had bought this direct from Adobe. I thought it was
quite expensive, about $200 USA. I had already bought Adobe Photoshop
4.0 several years' ago, which came with the Scanmaker E6, my scanner
at that time.
On the 13th September I had called Adobe and was
assured by the Sales Department (Sally) at Adobe that the Update would work
with my Photoshop 4.0.
However, when I began the download the Update stated that it would
only update Adobe 5.5 or higher!
I called the 800 number for Customer Service, to ask them if I should
return the Update. That person asked for all the details of my
past and present system and the Serial Numbers. He said he would
put me through to the Technical
Help Department.
I waited for fifteen minutes for a Technical Assistant.
That person asked me for all the details of my
past and present system and the Serial Numbers. Then he said I would need
to speak to another assistant.
I waited for another fifteen minutes or so for another Technical Assistant.

I waited for another fifteen minutes or so for another Technical Assistant.
This person asked me for all the details of my
past and present system and the Serial Numbers. This person's name was
Candy. As I said .. she asked me for all the details of my
past and present system and the Serial Numbers. Finally she began to put
me through various commands and tried to get the Update to work. I had
just been given a command which was supposed to open the Update, when the
telephone went dead!
I tried to get through on the 800 number again. The phone was picked up
by a machine as usual, but thereafter went dead.
After three tries I reached a woman who said she could put me through to a
Technician ...
this woman asked me for all the details of my
past and present system and the Serial Numbers. I waited for about 15 minutes ..
but then the telephone went dead again. (She had said that
the entire telephone system at Adobe had broken down and their technicians
were beset).
I don't know who to believe. Is this a scam on the part of such a big
company? Could it be so easy to bilk customers out of $200 US? I hope not.
Anyway, I thought you should know about it, if you are thinking about buying
Adobe product.
My original Adobe Photoshop 4.0. did not work properly with my Windows system.
I tried to follow the "Chapter 1: A Quick Tour of Adobe Photoshop", which I
had printed myself (a book was not provided). As soon as I reached the 12th
instruction my computer crashed. I was not impressed with that at all.
However, it was useful to be able to paint out flaws in portraits, or sharpen
images, which I cannot do with my present software. That only handles files -
and rather clumsily at that.

Thought I should include this item in September as it concerns the Adobe
programme...
I spent an hour on-line with a nice young man named Dan (at Adobe) who
(finally) helped me download and unlock my PhotoShop CS2. My goodness,
what a complicated procedure ... they certainly don't want people pirating,
copying or otherwise misusing their software! The funny thing is .. now I
have it, all the other programs are smartening up and doing whatever they
were supposed to do in the first place.
It's a lovely programme, more than I need. Lots of professional photography
and graphics gadgets. Anyway, my worry about that is now over, thank goodness.
Now I can continue worrying and fussing about the sunroom. The floor is
down (along with the underlying vapour barrier and R28 insulations).. but it
is pouring with rain and I am fretting about the whole lot getting soaked and
mouldy.

I am having a sunroom built on the back of my house by PM Contracting. I thought you would like to see some pictures:-
